ntblSubject: RE: Josefa Velez Liboy de Pascual Hi Jose, Thank you for responding. Maricao! That is indeed interesting. My wife's great grandfather was named Miguel Liboy and he lived in Maricao. The 1910 census has him there, aged 60, so he was born about 1850. Perhaps he is a close relative of your Josefa. And Antonia Liboy is my wife's mother's name also. Her father was Enrique Carmen Liboy, and he would have lived in Maricao as a young boy, so perhaps he knew the Antonia Liboy de Velez who was your Josefa's mother, and maybe that's where the name came from. Miguel and some of his sons apparently went back and forth all the way to Hawaii to work in plantations. Some stayed. Enrique was born on a ship as they were coming back from Hawaii to San Francisco before going back to PR. My wife's grandfather moved to Santurce by 1920, and then many of his children later came to the states, mainly NY and FL. My wife barely knew her mother so we don't know a whole lot. She has recently contacted an uncle Ruditt Liboy who lives in Hawaii. He is very interested in the family history too. Well cool, that's something. If you come across anything else that connects us please let us know. That would be really great. Regards, David Obert (Ancestry.com)
